Morayo Fakiya, MD, MHA, CPHQ, CPPS, CLSSBB

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Morayo Fakiya is a board-certified internal and obesity medicine physician skilled in data-driven decision-making and outcomes optimization. With extensive experience in clinical care, quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, health information management, administration, and medical education, Dr. Fakiya is a versatile healthcare leader who delivers tangible results. As a certified healthcare quality, patient safety, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt professional, she designs and implements effective and sustainable solutions that improve patient outcomes, optimizes workflow, enhances efficiency, and improve patient satisfaction for diverse and complex stakeholders. She combines clinical expertise, data-driven decision-making, and innovative approaches to transform operations and provide value-based outcomes that benefit patients, providers, organizations, and communities.

As the founder and CEO of ORET Healthcare Enterprise, Dr. Fakiya leads a performance and process improvement consulting and training firm specializing in healthcare, data analytics, Lean Six Sigma methodology, and technology. ORET Healthcare provides innovative solutions through its three key areas of focus: health information management, quality improvement, and patient safety/risk management. Under her leadership, ORET Healthcare has become a trusted partner for healthcare stakeholders seeking to transform their operations and achieve sustainable success.

Dr. Fakiya is committed to making healthcare more equitable and accessible to underserved, under-resourced, and marginalized populations. She recently served as a consulting chief medical officer for an HRSA-funded federally qualified healthcare center (FQHC) in Baltimore, Maryland. She is also involved in various social impact initiatives at the local, national, and global levels, where she advocates for greater equity and access to healthcare for all. Before founding ORET Healthcare, Dr. Fakiya was the Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at Howard University Hospital, Department of Internal Medicine, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Howard University College of Medicine.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from Marymount College of Fordham University, where she was awarded the gold medal as the best-graduating student in the chemistry department. She obtained her Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland, her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, and completed her internal medicine residency training at Boston University/Boston Medical Center. Dr. Fakiya is a driving force in improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare delivery with her unwavering commitment to excellence, equity, innovation, and patient-centered care. 

Emma Fakiya, DrPH, MPH, MSc, RN

Chief Program Officer

Dr. Emma Fakiya is a doctor of public health, registered nurse midwife, nutritionist, and integrative nutrition and health coach. As the chief program officer of ORET Healthcare Enterprise, Dr. Fakiya leads our organization’s program development and implementation efforts. With over 30 years of experience in maternal and child health services, 20 years in nutrition programs with donor agencies like the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization (WHO), seven years as a procurement and training officer in various World Bank-assisted Health System Development Projects (HSDP) in Ekiti state, Nigeria, and eight years as a chief nutritionist, she brings a unique and dynamic perspective to our team.
As the chief nutritionist in Ekiti state, Nigeria, she partnered with donor agencies such as UNICEF and WHO on nutrition programs such as growth monitoring, lactation management, complementary feedings, food security, and micronutrient supplementation. She achieved exclusive breastfeeding practices among 75% of mothers in the state within three years, designated 20 hospitals and 30 health centers as baby-friendly to promote breastfeeding practices, established 16 food demonstration and community growth monitoring centers, established four early care centers, and four community and school micronutrient gardens.

As a procurement and training officer for the World Bank HSDP in Ekiti state, Nigeria, she served as the head of the procurement team procuring goods, works, and consultancy services. She built the capacity of primary health care providers and community health workers at the community, local, and state levels through relevant health promotion training programs. Dr. Fakiya recently served as a clinical nurse in the Department of Maternal and Child Health for over ten years at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC.
